Advent: The Uncluttered Heart Advent is a time when we prepare our lives, hearts, minds and spirits for the coming of the Christ child. We sweep out the corners of our hearts, cleaning up the clutter, to make space for God's hope, peace, joy, love and presence. The Uncluttered Heart offers four weeks of guided reflection through the weeks of Advent on through Epiphany. Each day provides a quotation, scripture passage, reflection, and prayer. Join us for the last 3 sessions on Sunday mornings through December 20 at 9 am.
Parade of Lights LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE is here again and UMCL's float will be there. We are in need of riders BIG and SMALL! Please join us December 5 at 6 pm on 8th St (Blvd). We will be parked on the Blvd. Just find us and hop on. Help us sing, wave, pass out candy canes, hot cocoa, and rock the town away. After the parade is over, we will meet at UMC and drop off the K4C kids. If you would like to help with assembling our float, please contact Steve Albert or Dave Laughton. Please bring your hot cocoa and candy cane donations and put them in the box in Fellowship Hall. We would like to pass out at least 500 treats. Can we do it??

Bakers and Buyers Wanted!! On December 13, the Confirmation students will be holding a bake sale after the church service (which also happens to be KFC's Christmas program). All proceeds from the bake sale will be used to buy items for the Adopt-A-Family Program. We would welcome and love any baked goods or craft items you would like to donate. Just bring them to Fellowship Hall prior to the worship service, or contact Susan Bixenman and we can help your goodies find their way to the church. We also need buyers, so bring your wallets and empty tummies! The purpose of the project is to involve the students in Christian-based giving, in celebration of God's gift of Jesus to the world.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, to all the Kids 4 Christ and Confirmation students and staff. In the month of September, we raised $67.72 to purchase 2 beds for the Gospel Mission. In the month of October, we were able to supply the Humane Society with toys, food, dishes and cleaning supplies. In November, we adopted the Christian Needs Center and were able to donate over $400 in food. WOW!! You are all totally awesome in helping out! Our next mission is going to be as great or greater. It is called Adopting Baby Jesus. We are collecting baby items, either new or gently used. We are looking for clothes and diapers in all sizes, baby wash, toys, or any item you would like to give. Bring your item and put it in our crib in the basement. Pastor Larson is challenging us. If we can get 150 items, we will have a Sundae Party. Let’s take the challenge and do it!!
