Blanket Sunday You may not be able to buy a blanket for $5, but Church World Service can! On Sunday, October 12 we will be taking a special offering for blankets. Every $5 donated will be given to CWS to buy blankets for disaster refugees. These blankets give hope in the midst of devastation and provide warmth and shelter. Your $5 will go a long way! Consider giving a blanket in honor of every member of your household or perhaps you want to get some Christmas gifts done early? Give and send the person a note telling them you gave a blanket in honor of them. Please be generous!
Produce Table The produce table shares the bounty with others. The proceeds go to the cost of shipping the Thanksgiving Ingathering kits we assemble. It costs $2 per kit and we are anticipating more than 100 kits this fall. Garden produce, baked goods, beautiful flowers, whatever you are willing to share is placed on the table in Fellowship Hall each Sunday. A freewill offering can be given for whatever is taken from the table. Thanks to all who have blessed this table with items and blessings to all the buyers, too!
Our Missionaries - Larry & Jane Kies Larry and Jane have served in Zimbabwe for many years. Every 3 years they itinerate to the U.S. We will have the privilege to hear them share of their missionary experiences on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 pm here at UMCL. (This presentation is different from what Jane and Larry will share on Saturday morning.) Come and hear how these missionaries are serving the Lord on behalf of the United Methodist Church. You won’t be disappointed and you will broaden your world! Refreshments will follow. You are encouraged to bring friends with you!
Dresser Ministry Dresser #9’s drawers are filling up fast! Check out the items already given and those that are not initialed on the list. Choose an item, initial it, purchase it, put it in the drawer and put an X thru your initials….it’s that easy! God already has a mother and child in His plan who will receive this filled dresser...it’s up to us to have it filled before this baby arrives!
